Yes. I have a an MSc in Clinical Animal Behaviour.
I'm both a registered Animal Training Instructor (ATI) and Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CAB) with the Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC). I'm also a full member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC) and a Candidate member of the Fellowship of Animal Behaviour Clinicians (FABC).
Why does this matter...
Working with someone qualified means you'll get an educated and supportive approach, which follows the science and prioritises welfare.
You'll stand the best chance of getting to the bottom of the problem... which means being able to move forwards with peace of mind!
Working with me involves getting to the bottom of what's going on with your cat's behaviour and helping you understand why they're acting like this.
You'll be given realistic advice and strategies about how you can work towards change, have support in learning the necessary training skills you need and feel supported in finding a positive way forwards, for you AND your cat!
I'll guarantee you support, my expertise and working towards the best long term outcome for you and your cat.
I don't promote or use 'quick-fixes', which are often involved if you're given guarantees of 'fixing behaviour'. There are various methods which appear to 'fix' behaviour in the short term, usually at a detriment to your cat and often leaving you with even more problems in the long run. Behaviour is complex and impacted by too many variables to make guarantees!
The best route to success is understanding the problem and finding a realistic way forwards, which looks for the best outcome for you AND your cat. So, if this sounds like something you want and you're ready to learn and start the journey towards change, then...
I can help you!
If you'd like support with a behaviour problem, then yes!
Any properly qualified behaviourist will require a vet referral. Behaviour is complex and often impacted by health, so vet liaison is essential.
It's an easy process, you just need to ask your vet to sign my referral form, which can be found above.
1. Be open to suggestions and new ideas, but don't be afraid to raise any concerns you have with me. I want to make sure suggestions I make are going to be feasible for you.
2.Understand that just like trying to change habits in ourselves, seeing change in our cat's behaviour isn't always simple (behaviour can be complex!). It may be hard at times, but know you've got my support!
3.Take full advantage of my support and ask me questions, ask for my feedback on videos and fill me in on your progress, or any setbacks. There's no silly questions and I'm always happy to hear from you!
Please note… At this time I’m unfortunately unable to take on new clients. Please sign-up to my email updates if you would like to be updated about when I re-open my books to new clients. I hope for this to be in September, if not sooner.
